Update: Trekking For Kids Orphanage Donations

Doesn’t it feel wonderful to do a nice thing for someone?

I want to thank each and every one of you who generously gave to the Trekking For Kids donation fund. I emailed everyone on my list about this a few weeks back in this blog post. Read on to find out what kind of difference you’ve made!

Kathyrn Cherry, the gal who was in charge of the donation drive and who is currently visiting the orphanage reports…

The children at the Msamaria Center are very excited for our visit. Right now they are already witnessing the fruits of everyone’s fundraising efforts. Their home is buzzing with activity with all of the hired workers making much needed repairs on the walls and floors. In addition, wood has been ordered and furniture is starting to be built for new beds, tables, chairs, desks and more. This is an exciting time for all of them at the Msamaria Center—a dream come true. Thank you for all the money that has been raised so far. We will now be able to send them another installment of money this week so they can continue with the repairs and the furniture building.

Your donations were matched by me at a buck per person who donated. I wanted to match it dollar for dollar, but you guys are so generous I was afraid I’d have to sell my house to pull that off!

We raised thousand of dollars overall and my check was tossed into the mix for another $720.00. Here’s a picture of my donation, a dollar for each of you who gave…

Once again, thanks to all who donated from their hearts and their wallets.
